These Bale webcams show the small hilltop town of Bale live, in south-western Istria between Rovinj and Pula, together with the coast below it around the Mon Perin campsite. One camera looks out over the red rooftops of the old town towards the sea, while others look over the beaches, paths and coves of Mon Perin, so you can check the weather, the light and the sea before you set off.
The Bale webcam on the Soardo-Bembo Palace looks out from the old town over the roofs and gardens of Bale, across the green Istrian countryside to the sea on the horizon. Down on the coast, the Mon Perin campsite beach webcam shows a pebble beach and the calm water of the bay, and the Mon Perin bay webcam looks over a rocky cove framed by pine and holm oak forest. Two further cameras in the town look over Tomaso Bembo Square and La Musa Square.
Bale (Valle in Italian) is a typical Istrian hilltop town, about 140 metres above sea level and around five kilometres from the sea. Its protected old town of narrow stone lanes grew around the medieval castle of the Soardo and Bembo families, and the tall bell tower of the parish church can be seen from far away. The coast of Bale is wild and green, with quiet bays and pebble beaches, and the Colone bay area is known for its finds of dinosaur fossils. Bale lies close to the road between Rovinj and Pula, so it is easy to combine with a day on the coast.
Live images are the quickest way to see what the day really looks like in Bale: sunshine or cloud over the old town, a calm or choppy sea, and how busy the beaches of Mon Perin are at different times of day. The view from the town over the countryside also shows haze, rain clouds or clear air over south-western Istria.
