These Fažana webcams show the fishing town of Fažana live, on the south-western coast of Istria just north of Pula, opposite the Brijuni National Park. The main camera looks over the harbour, the waterfront and the boats, with the green Brijuni islands on the horizon, so you can check the weather and the sea before a walk along the riva, a day on the beach or a boat trip to the islands.
The Fažana harbour webcam looks over the square by the sea, the beach huts and the harbour full of small boats and excursion boats, with the channel and the Brijuni islands behind them. Other cameras in the town have shown the riva and town marina of Fažana, the town beach and the coast at the BiVillage campsite facing the Brijuni islands, so together they give a picture of the whole seafront.
Fažana is an old fishing town with a long seafaring tradition. Its historic core of narrow lanes and closely built stone houses stands right by the harbour, where the parish church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, a late fifteenth-century building, rises above the waterfront. Fishermen still keep the traditional batana, a small wooden boat that is one of the symbols of Istrian fishing, and in summer the harbour is busy with boats leaving for the Brijuni National Park, which can only be reached by sea. Along the coast on both sides of the town there are pebble beaches, pine woods and campsites, and the city of Pula is only a short drive away.
Live images are the quickest way to see what the day really looks like in Fažana: sunshine or cloud over the harbour, a calm or choppy channel, and how busy the waterfront is at different times of day. Before a boat trip to Brijuni, a look at the sea is especially useful.
