These Pula webcams show the largest city of Istria live, at the southern tip of the peninsula. The cameras look at the Roman Arena, the Forum with the Temple of Augustus, the streets of the centre and the quiet bay of Banjole nearby, so you can check the weather, the light and the atmosphere in town before a walk among the Roman monuments, a concert in the Arena or a day by the sea.
The Pula Arena webcam and the Pula webcam look straight at the amphitheatre, with its arches and the traffic of the city around it. The Pula Forum webcam shows the old Roman square, with the Temple of Augustus and the town hall, while the Koper street webcam looks over a green residential street and the Korzo and Giardini webcam shows the tree-lined Giardini. Outside the centre, the Banjole bay webcam looks over a calm inlet with small boats near Premantura, and the Aquarium Pula webcam has shown the sharks in the aquarium tank.
Pula has around three thousand years of history, and its Roman past is everywhere. The Arena was built in the first century under Emperor Vespasian and is one of the largest surviving Roman amphitheatres; it once held about 20,000 spectators and today hosts concerts and the Pula Film Festival in summer. On the Forum stands the Temple of Augustus, the only fully preserved temple of the Roman square, and the Arch of the Sergii, also called the Golden Gate, has marked the entrance to the old town since the first century BC. Above the centre, the star-shaped Venetian fortress houses the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, and the peninsulas of Verudela and Stoja offer beaches, pine woods and swimming spots.
Live images are the quickest way to see what the day really looks like in Pula: sunshine or cloud over the Arena, rain on the Forum, a calm or choppy sea and how busy the streets are at different times of day.
